Farmhouse Spinabbio
Welcome! Step into our world at Spinabbio, where the story of our family intertwines with the rich history of this land. We, the Rosini family, proudly steward this tourist farm—a dream born from serendipity and forged in passion.
Spinabbio's journey stretches back centuries, starting around 1500 when it sheltered the Benedictine monks of St. Benedict's order. Nestled beneath the watchful peak of St. Egidio, Spinabbio thrived with olive groves, vineyards, and chestnut trees, nurturing families who flourished with the monks' benevolent guidance.
Yet, like the turning seasons, change swept through Spinabbio with the arrival of Napoleon in the 1700s. The monks, stripped of their homes in a decree of enforced poverty, retreated to their monastic refuges. Their dwellings passed to nobles, and the people they had supported fell under new masters.
Spinabbio endured many transformations until it found its way into the hands of Count Farina di Farneta, who bestowed it upon his daughter's marriage to Count Venanzi. Amidst the twists of fate, the estate eventually slipped into the possession of Knight Ramazzotti di Monza, who, though distant, held Spinabbio in title.
By the 1960s, wearied peasants departed their mountain homes, seeking livelihoods in distant factories. Silence settled over the neglected fields and houses, where time and neglect conspired against the once-thriving community. Yet, fate intervened once more when the knight, moved by circumstance or perhaps providence, offered Spinabbio for sale.
Against all odds, our family seized the opportunity to reclaim Spinabbio. With hearts brimming with determination and hands filled with hope, we embarked on a journey to revive this forgotten paradise. Through years of dedication and boundless love, we meticulously restored Spinabbio to its former glory—a testament to our unwavering dream.
Today, Spinabbio stands not just as a tourist farm but as a living legacy—a testament to resilience, passion, and the enduring spirit of the Rosini family. We invite you to share in our history, to savor the fruits of our labor, and to find your own piece of serendipity in this timeless corner of the world. Welcome to Spinabbio, where every stone tells a story, and every breeze whispers of a journey that continues to unfold.
